About

The Family Medicine Residency program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center excels in the training of family physicians, incorporating state-of-the-art medical management and attention to patients’ and residents’ psychological well-being.  We teach residents the clinical and personal skills they need to become leaders in Family Medicine, and in the communities in which they will practice.

AIMMC is a 397-bed teaching hospital serving the Chicagoland area, located on Chicago’s North Side, one of the state’s largest, most comprehensive not-for-profit medical centers. We provide family-focused, community-oriented healthcare to patients of all ages in the urban, ethnically diverse north side-Chicago community.

Our graduates go on to develop careers that include many diverse aspects of Family Medicine, including academic appointments, public health positions, outpatient full-scope Family Medicine, fellowships in geriatrics, sports medicine, integrative medicine and adolescent medicine, as well as maternity and pediatric care. Our residents are also well trained in procedural medicine and OMT, equipping them with a broad skill set to provide comprehensive patient care.
