Critical care specialist David Kramer, MD, is board certified in both internal medicine and the subspecialty of critical care medicine. He is the medical director of critical care services for Aurora Health Care. Dr. Kramer has clinical expertise in the intensive care of critically ill patients with multiple systems organ failure. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of transplant critical care and the management of patients with liver disease before and after liver transplantation. His special interests include optimizing medical care processes to improve outcomes for critically ill patients with liver failure and its complications, including metabolic encephalopathy, acute renal failure (hepatorenal syndrome), acute lung injury (adult respiratory distress syndrome), hepatopulmonary syndrome and portopulmonary hypertension and cirrhotic cardiomyopathy.
