    Dr. Hirschtick is a social epidemiologist with expertise in the design and analysis of complex population surveys and community-based epidemiologic research and practice. Her experience spans academic, clinical, and community settings, providing a unique perspective on the value and need for epidemiologic research and dissemination in multiple contexts. She has studied a variety of health outcomes and behaviors, including infectious diseases, behavioral health, and tobacco use, with a focus on health equity. Prior to joining Advocate Aurora Research Institute, Dr. Hirschtick was a research faculty member at the University of Michigan for four years and an epidemiologist at Sinai Urban Health Institute for eight years. She received her MPH from Johns Hopkins University and her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
