Dr. Michelle Simpson received both her bachelors and doctorate nursing from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has more than 18 years of progressive research experience. Since joining Advocate Aurora Health in 2013 as a senior research scientist, she has continued to build a research program that aims to improve patient care for older adults across the health care continuum. Focusing primarily on the impact delirium and dementia have on the care trajectory of older adults. Prior to joining Advocate Aurora Health Dr. Simpson spent ten years at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee College of Nursing as a research associate for National Institute of Health-funded geriatric research and as an assistant professor. She has secured numerous external research grants, developed, the Bundled Hospital Elder Life program with an interprofessional team of clinical experts and research team members. She led two funded studies 2016-2017 and 2019- 2020 At Advocate Aurora Health. Dr. Simpson is the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Simpson also serves on several organization and community committees. She has expertise in quantitative analysis and developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions.
