He joined the Electrophysiology faculty in 2007. He is American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Dr. Mortada’s passion for teaching was evident at the start of his training. Within a year of joining the faculty he became Associate Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship, and since 2014 he is the director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship. As mentor and director of the EP rotation for cardiovascular fellows, his impact is also significant on the EP training for CV fellows. His enthusiasm for teaching extends to students, physicians, and allied health professionals as well as to patients and to the community at large through participation in patient education conferences and television interviews on important medical topics. He has presented more than 70 lectures locally, nationally, and internationally to colleagues at all levels.
